Stephanie Robison

Stephanie Robison

Stephanie Robison (born August 5, 1976) is the professional name of Stephanie Robison Baggs, a sculpture artist based in Portland, Oregon. She received her Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the University of Oregon in 2004. Her work is exemplified by the post minimalist use materials (ala Richard Tuttle only much larger, but smaller than Jessica Stockholder's full room works) in a range of tactically diverse ways, such as stuffed fabric, wood, and marble. The effect recalls surrealism, with undertones of disconnected, fluid anatomy. Her sculpture Blue Frontier (wood, fabric, paint, cotton batting, wire, thread) appeared at the [http://www.cocaseattle.org Center on Contemporary Art] in Seattle, Washington in 2006 [http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/theaterarts/2003466812_visart08.html] . She is also regularly featured at the [http://www.tiltpdx.com/ Tilt Gallery] in Portland, Oregon [http://www.portlandmercury.com/portland/Content?oid=37373&category=22127] . Stephanie is married to Steve Baggs, a graphic artist who runs the multimedia company [http://www.baggsmedia.com baggsmedia] .
