Comprehensive Peace Agreement
Rebecca Nyandeng has expressed dissatisfaction with the way the government of
Sudan inKhartoum implements the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). During the years of war, she joined the Southern army known today asSudan People's Liberation Army and theSudan People's Liberation Movement . She is known for her support for the right of self-determination for South Sudan although she has nothing against the united Sudan under a democratic rule of law. Millions of Southern Sudanese have been affected by the war between theNorth andSouth Sudan which has a long history from the time the British leftSudan in1956 . As a result of war over 2 million lives in Southern Sudan have been lost and four million Southern Sudanese are both internally displaced and externally living in other countries as refugees. After the arrival of peace in Southern Sudan, repatriation process is making headlines once in a while by theUnited Nations .Education
Rebecca Nyandeng often appears in Southern Sudanese national women outfit. She has received her education both in Sudan and in the United States of America where she and her husband Dr. John Garang lived for many years. In the absence of John Garang Southern Sudan continues to struggle in implementing The Comprehensive Peace Agreement with the government of Sudan as a national partner to allow the Southern Sudanese people exercise their right of self-determination to create a new nation along the
