Belfast ,Northern Ireland . He helped recruit numerousProvisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) members (volunteers) (seeMairead Farrell ).He played a key role in the
Maze (HM Prison) prison escape, which was the biggest prison break in British penal history.On
January 11 2005 , Ulster UnionistMember of Parliament forSouth Antrim David Burnside told theBritish House of Commons underParliamentary privilege that Storey was head of intelligence for the Provisional IRA reporting directly to theIRA Army Council and was responsible for theNorthern Bank robbery .
