12th ESC

12th European Students Conference took place 21-25th Nov 2001 at the Charite Medical School in Berlin, Germany

Scientific focus of 12th ESC was neurosciences with sessions, key note lectures, and a teaching course on headache (co-organized by the International Headache Society/Harvard Medical School). This symposium was co-organized and sponsored by Hertie Foundation.

In addition, there were 21 other scientific sessions in which students presented their research on other topics than neurosciences.

Special events of the conference were:

*Future of Europe (a panel discussion with a former German president and others)
*Medical Education Day (a series of workshops devoted to modern medical education)
*Talking about Life, Science and Chances (a panel with personalities about their careers in biomedicine)

There were 15 workshops mostly devoted to stress and career management which were co-organized with external partners.

A social program was offered to have the conferences participants become acquainted with important places in German culture and history and to have them enjoy your stay in Berlin. E.g., A guided tour to the Reichstag was offered as well as a post-conference tour to Dresden or several social gatherings.
