The U.S. House election, 1864 was an election for the United States House of Representatives in 1864 which coincided with the re-election of President Abraham Lincoln.
In the middle of the Civil War, the opposition Democratic Party was divided between peace and war factions and lacked a coherent message. Lincoln's Republican Party gained a decisive majority.
