Espicom Business Intelligence is a publisher of independent and impartial information and analysis services focusing on the pharmaceutical and medical device markets. Espicom's main offices are located at Chichester, West Sussex in the United Kingdom.

History

Founded in 1981, the company, formerly known as MDIS Publications, was at one time acquired and then later divested by McGraw-Hill Inc. In 1998, MDIS Publications changed its name to Espicom Business Intelligence. Subsequently, Espicom USA Inc was established in Princeton, New Jersey, providing a permanent operations base in the USA.

In October 2004, Espicom divested its telecoms publishing division to International Telecoms Intelligence (ITI) in order to focus on its Healthcare Intelligence business.

Coverage

Espicom competes in the business intelligence sector, which is dominated by large groups such as Informa or IMS Health. Espicom employs over 50 staff at its UK and US offices, mainly in research, analysis and editorial roles.

Espicom's publications and information services cover a wide range of healthcare topics including country market analyses, developments in the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular drugs, treatment of CNS disorders, advances in drug delivery methods, pharmaceutical generics, biosimilars, medical imaging, orthopaedics, cardiovascular devices, "in vitro" diagnostics and diabetes.
