A referendum was held in the Republic of Ireland on 25 November 1992 in an attempt to make three amendments to the Constitution of Ireland, all relating to abortion. Two of the measures were approved, while the third was rejected.
Twelfth amendment
The Twelfth Amendment proposed that the possibility of suicide was not a sufficient threat to justify an abortion. The proposal was rejected.
