Chris Morgan (Northern Irish footballer)

Chris Morgan (born January 11, 1976, Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish footballer. He currently plays for Newry City FC joining from Glentoran on December 30 2007 on an 18month contract

Morgan signed for Glentoran from arch-rivals Linfield in July 2004, having won 3 IPL titles with the South Belfast club. In his first season at Glentoran, Morgan scored the winning goal in the CIS League Cup final against Linfield, and also a 93rd minute winner against Linfield which ultimately won the league for his new club. The date of this game, 23rd April 2005, has since been re-named by Glentoran supporters as 'Morgan Day'.

This league win was the 5th of Morgan's career having won his first with another Belfast club, Crusaders, thus giving him the distinction of winning IPL titles with 3 different clubs.

After a slow start to his Newry City F.C. career, Chris finished the 2007/08 season with 5 goals in 19 appearances.

He is also a massive Spurs fan and goes often to the games in London.

Chris recently became the father of a baby girl, congratulations!! Lets hope we can see Chris and his daughter at White Hart Lane in the future.
