nihongo|Akusekijima|悪石島 is a volcanic island located in the Tokara Islands, southern part of the Ryukyu Islands, Japan. Most of the island is surrounded by steep cliffs.

It is one of the best observation spots (one of the closest to the location of maximum eclipse duration) of the Solar eclipse of July 22, 2009, which will be one of the longest total solar eclipses of the twenty-first century.
