- Geochemical Society
The "Geochemical Society" is a nonprofit and international scientific society for the purpose of encouraging the application of
chemistry to solve problems involvinggeology andcosmology . Their offices are located in the Earth andPlanetary Sciences Department atWashington University in Saint Louis,Missouri .Affiliations
The Geochemical Society is affiliated with both the
American Association for the Advancement of Science and theInternational Union of Geological Sciences Organization and meetings
The Geochemical Society is run by a board of directors who meet annually. The last meeting was at the 18th annual V.M. Goldschmidt Conference, being held from July 13-18 at the
University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. The society co-sponsored the conference, along with the European Association for Geochemistry.Membership
The Geochemical Society lists that members come from "such fields as
organic geochemistry , high and low-temperature geochemistry, petrology ,meteoritics , fluid-rock interaction, andisotope geochemistry ". Membership costs are $30 a year for a Professional, $10 a year for Student, and $12 a year for Senior. Membership includes a subscription to "Elements" and also offers discounts on their various publications.Publications
