In 2004 Jacob Mincer received a Career Achievement Award from the University of Chicago's Society of Labor Economists (SOLE). The annual award has subsequently become known as the "Mincer Award", and is given annually to an individual that has made a lifetime of important contributions to the field of labor economics.
There will be two (2) awards per year for the first five (5) years of the award. The issue of numbers of awards and their frequency will be visited by the Society of Labor Economists Executive Board between the fourth and fifth years of this award.[1]
