Gabber is a free software and open-source instant messaging client for GNOME supporting the Jabber protocol. The first version, created by Dave Smith and Julian Missig, was one of the earliest Jabber clients. Gabber 2 was created by Julian Missig and Thomas Muldowney as a rewrite for GNOME 2. Development of Gabber 2 stopped in June 2004.
