Julie A. Rosen

Julie A. Rosen (b. August 9, 1957) is a U.S. politician who currently serves as a Senator in the Minnesota Senate, where she is an assistant minority leader.

Background

Born in Colorado, Rosen graduated from Denver High School in Denver, Colorado, and she earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Agronomy from Colorado State University. Rosen is an agronomist residing in Fairmont, Minnesota, with her husband, Tom, and has three children: Wade, Karin, and Reid.

Political career

Rosen was first elected in as State Senator during the elections of 2002 as a Republican. She was re-elected in 2006 and began her second term in the Minnesota Senate January, 2007. She is currently on the following committees:

*Capital Investment
*Energy, Utilities, Technology and Communications
*Finance Subcommittee: Health and Human Services Budget Division
*Finance Subcommittee: Public Safety Budget Division. Rosen was elected from district 24, which is in South Central Minnesota.
