Bob Gunther

Bob Gunther (b. 07/12/1943) is a U.S. politician. He serves in his seventh term as a Representative from District 24A in the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Background

Bob Gunther was born in Sioux City, Iowa and was educated at Fairmont High School in Fairmont, Minnesota. He served in the United States Navy until age 26. and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree from Saint Cloud State University in Marketing.

He lives in Fairmont, Minnesota, where he co-owns Gunther's Foods in Fairmont and Elmore, Minnesota. He is married to Nancy, and has 1 child, Elizabeth. Bob is a member of the Bethel Evangelical Free Church. He enjoys reading Louis L’Amour and Robert Ludlum.

Political career

He was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives during the elections of 1995 as a Republican. He has been re-elected six times and began his seventh term in the Minnesota House January, 2007. He is on the following committees: Energy Finance and Policy Division; Environment and Natural Resources Finance Division; Higher Education and Work Force Development Policy and Finance Division; Labor and Consumer Protection Division; Watersheds, Wetlands and Buffers Subcommittee; Ways and Means. Gunther represents district 24A, which is in South Central Minnesota.
