Geoffrey Crowther, Baron Crowther

Geoffrey Crowther, Baron Crowther (May 13 1907-February 5 1972) was a journalist, businessman and key educational figure in the United Kingdom.

He served as chairperson of the Central Advisory Council for Education between 1956 and 1960, which in 1959 issued the "Crowther Report" calling for the school leaving age to be raised to 16. He subsequently served as the first Chancellor of the Open University.

He was the first chairman of the Royal Commission on the Constitution, from its creation in 1969 until his death in February 1972.
