In 1993 Rita Rogers' article "History Returns to Haunt the Present" ("Los Angeles Times", March 1,1993) caused a controversy with renown medical expert on the Croatian War, Jerry Blaskovich, MD, author of "Anatomy of Deceit - An American's Physician's First Hand Encounter with the Realities of Croatia". Blaskovich sent a letter to Dr. Rogers dated March 6, 1993, stating her article was outstanding, "except in the areas you apparently have little knowledge of but nonetheless wished to pontificate." Dr. Blaskovich continued that her "misinformed comments were not innocent because they perpetuate the historical revisionism that has characterized the Yugoslav crisis."
