Function

The IBBA concentrates itself on education and courses for the business broker profession. It awards the Certified Business Broker (CBI) certification as well as runs the courses and seminars required to abtain this certification.

It is the parent organization for the M&A Source and the founding organization of M&A Today.

It is one of the key lobbyists for reforms within the world of M&A and business brokerage. The IBBA and occasionally IBBA members independently use political and legal pressures that have helped create many legal reforms for business mediation in the United States and Canada.
