James Sherman is an artist known for his work in American comic books and later in movies and logos.

Comic book work

"Legion of Super-Heroes"

In comics he is perhaps best remembered as a penciller for "Legion of Super-Heroes" in the late 1970s, when he took over as regular artist following Mike Grell. His run which ended halfway during the multiple issue Earthwar story arc due to his displeasure with the direction of the storyline. He walked off the title and was replaced by Joe Staton.

His run as the regular penciller on "Legion" (vol. 2) ran from issue #225 [http://members.fortunecity.es/superspain/sb1977.html Legion 1977 index] (March 1977) to #242 [http://members.fortunecity.es/superspain/sb1978.html Legion 1978 index] (August 1978).

Other comic book work

Sherman was the artist on Elaine Lee's 1991 noir space opera "The Transmutation of Ike Garuda".

In his work since then, his most visible creation is the logo for Major League Baseball.
