Shishido Domain

Shishido Domain

The nihongo|Shishido Domain|宍戸藩|Shishido han was a "han" of Japan's Edo period. Located in Hitachi Province (present-day Ibaraki Prefecture), it was ruled for the majority of its history by a branch of the Tokugawa clan of Mito. The domain was confiscated for action in support of the Tengu Party in 1864, but was restored to the family, after the shogunate's fall in 1868. It was disbanded in 1871.
