Lisa Moorish (born in Walworth, London [http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:5TwJpgJa8GAJ:people.famouswhy.com/lisa_moorish+%22lisa+moorish%22+born&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=7&gl=uk] ) is an English singer-songwriter. She grew up in Brixton, South London and was formerly the lead singer of the electro-rock band "Kill City" and has recently been working on her first new material as a solo artist in a decade.

Moorish had a fleeting brush with fame in the early nineties when she had a brief pop career after signing to Jive records aged 17, her most famous hits being "Mr Friday Night", a cover of the Kevin Saunderson classic "Rock to the Beat" and a cover of George Michael's "I'm Your Man" in 1995. In 1996, Moorish provided backing vocals on Irish indie rockers Ash's hit single "Oh Yeah" and in 1999 and 2000 made uncredited appearances in the critically panned Brit films "Soul Patrol" and "Love, Honour and Obey".

In 2004, Kill City released their debut EP "White Boys, Brown Girl" on Poptones Records and in 2005, Moorish recorded a cover of "Fairytale of New York" with Johnny Borrell. She has frequently performed with Drew McConnell. In 2006, Moorish appeared on the Strummerville charity single, a cover of The Clash's "Janie Jones" which peaked at #17 in the UK Top 40.

In March 1998, she gave birth to her daughter Molly. Molly's father is Liam Gallagher and she was conceived 2 months after Gallagher married Patsy Kensit. Lisa met Liam and dated him on and off for 2 years before he got together with Patsy. Moorish has a son Astile Louis Doherty, fathered by Pete Doherty, who was born in the London Borough of Camden in 2003. [ [http://www.findmypast.com Births England and Wales 1984-2006] ]
