Via ventriloquism, Pin explains to Dr. Linden's children bodily functions and how the body works in a way children can relate to, without it being awkward. But, when Mr. and Mrs. Linden get killed in a car crash, caused by the dummy, his son, Leon (David Hewlett ) begins using ventriloquism himself, so Pin once again has a voice. Leon, an undiagnosed schizophrenic, starts to once again believe that Pin is alive, although Leon is now eighteen.
