Moving Wallpaper/Echo Beach

"Moving Wallpaper" and "Echo Beach" are two inter-related British television series, created by Tony Jordan and produced by Kudos for ITV. "Echo Beach" is a soap opera set in the fictional Cornish coastal town of Polnarren and "Moving Wallpaper" is a mockumentary-style comedy that features the fictional producers of "Echo Beach". Twelve episodes were commissioned for each series and filming began in July 2007 for January 2008 broadcast [ [ Television - News - 'Beach' and 'Wallpaper' supporting cast confirmed - Digital Spy ] ] .

The first episode of "Moving Wallpaper" was broadcast on 10 January 2008 on ITV1 at 21:00, followed by "Echo Beach" at 21:30.

Moving Wallpaper

"Moving Wallpaper" is a mockumentary comedy-drama about the production of "Echo Beach", with fictional producer Jonathan Pope being played by Ben Miller.

Characters from "Moving Wallpaper" also cross over into "Echo Beach", with Susie Amy playing an actress (called "Suzie Amy") trying to get a line in "Echo Beach" [ [ New so
] , and succeeds, playing the role of Angela.

Echo Beach

Echo Beach is a soap opera set in the fictional Cornish coastal town of Polnarren. The show is centred around Susan Penwarden (Martine McCutcheon), and her ex, love interest Daniel Marrack (Jason Donovan). Other characters include Mark Penwarden played by Hugo Speer, and Fin Morgan, played by Johnny Briggs.


The programmes are fimed at Looe and Polperro in South East Cornwall, as well as Watergate Bay, in North Cornwall.However, in Echo Beach, characters are seen on the beach at Watergate Bay on one shot, turn a corner and appear over 30 miles away in Looe in a couple of seconds, as all locations are meant to be in Polnarren, rather than their actual positions in Cornwall. Interior scenes (for example in character Jonathan Pope's office) are filmed at studios near Chertsey, west of London. Nancy's office is filmed at the ITV studios in London as you can see out of the window the local landmarks


Both series were released individually and also as a box set. The boxset features extras such as deleted scenes, out takes and the Mole webisodes from

Due to music rights, the soundtrack featured in the broadcast episodes are different from those on the DVD
