- Landscape Park (Poland)
In
Poland , a Landscape Park ( _pl. Park Krajobrazowy) is a type ofprotected area similar to aNational Park , but with less stringent restrictions on development and economic use.Legally, it is defined as an "area protected because of its natural, historical, cultural and scenic values, for the purpose of conserving and popularizing those values in conditions of balanced development".
A Landscape Park is created by order of the regional governor (
voivode ) following consultation with the council of the relevantgmina (s). As at1 January 2008 there are 121 designated Landscape Parks throughout Poland, covering a total area of approximately convert|25000|km2|sqmi|-3.For a listing, see
