Ulysses in Nighttown

Ulysses in Nighttown is an episode from the novel Ulysses by James Joyce that was turned into a very successful theatrical event by Tomas MacAnna the theatre director and presented originally on the Peacock Stage at Dublin's Abbey Theatre. The production was designed by Bronwen Cassin, lighting was by Leslie Scott. The production was one of the first "in the round" at the Peacock and was so successful that it was later transferred to the Abbey Theatre Main stage. Joe Dowling currently Artistic Director of the Guthrie Theatre played Leopold Bloom.
