Investigator Group

The Investigator Group is a collection of small islands located on the western side of the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia. They are on the eastern side of the Great Australian Bight within the Southern Ocean.

The largest island is Flinders Island at 39.38 square kilometres. The second largest is Pearson Isles, which are located 34 kilometres southwest from Flinders Island. Pearson Isle is also the highest island reaching 231 metres above sea level. Just to the south of Pearson Isles are the two small islands comprising the Veteran Isles. The most southern island is Dorothee Island located 3 kilometres south-southwest of the Veteran Isles.

Ward Islands are 16 kilometres west of Flinders Island, while the group of small islands forming the Topgallant Isles are 6 kilometres to the east of Flinders Island [Geoscience Australia, 1983. Topgallant 5730 1:100,000 topographic map, Edition 1.] .

All the islands except Flinders Island, and a part of Pearson Island, are part of the Investigator Group Conservation Park.
