Walter Patterson (birth date unknown - death date unknown) was a United States Representative from New York.

Patterson was born in Columbia County, New York, where he completed preparatory studies. He was member of the New York State Assembly in 1818 and also served as supervisor of the town of Ancram, New York from 1821 to 1823. He was elected as a Federalist to the 17th United States Congress, serving from March 4 1821 to March 3 1823). He moved to Livingston, New York and served as supervisor for the town of Livingston 1826-1828. He was also associate justice of the Columbia County Court from 1828 to 1830.
