Dapac

=Background=The Democratic Advancement Political Action Committee (DAPAC or the Democratic Advancement PAC) was founded by Tom and Chris Cramer for the 2002 Congressional elections. It is headquartered in downtown Seattle, where its employees conduct most of their operations. DAPAC is a unique progressive political action committee that targets Republican-held seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and helps “new progressive” Democratic candidates run in those districts.

=Screening Candidates=DAPAC screens potential candidates on a wide variety of progressive issues, including, reproductive rights, gay and lesbian rights, the Iraq War, universal healthcare, the environment, death penalty, workers rights, and gun control. Those seeking an endorsement must complete and sign a questionnaire stating their commitment to these issues.

=DAPAC-Endorsed Members of Congress=Some previously endorsed candidates who are now serving in Congress include DCCC chair Chris Van Hollen, Gabrielle Giffords, Joe Courtney, Bruce Braley, John Yarmuth, and Joe Sestak, among others.
