"Strike Me Pink" was the second and final single from Deborah Harry's fourth solo album. It failed to chart in the US and peaked at a disappointing, but not unexpected, #46 in the UK. The video was shrouded with controversy, possibly a ploy by Harry's record label to gain attention, for depicting a man drowning in a tank full of water. It was banned from several music television channels, thus suffering lower possible airplay time and exposure. The single also marked Harry's final release with Chrysalis Records and the end of her four album deal with the company which in 1991 had become a sublabel to EMI Music. This was Harry's last solo single for fourteen years until she released "Two Times Blue" in 2007.
