Microsoft for patent infringements tied to the licensing of the MP3 format.Biography
Born in
Sioux Falls , South Dakota, Brewster attendedPrinceton University and joinedNavy ROTC . He later served as a naval aviator. He graduated fromStanford Law School with a J.D. in 1960.Brewster worked at the law firm of
Gray, Cary, Ames & Frye , until he was appointed and confirmed to the federal bench, 1984, by PresidentRonald Reagan .He holds a fellowship with the
American College of Trial Lawyers , is an associate of theAmerican Board of Trial Advocates and serves as President and chancellor:Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court . He is also a member of theJ. Clifford Wallace Inn of Court Rulings
