Pharis Aboobaker

Pharis Aboobaker was the chairman of Deepika Daily. He came to the limelight owing to the comments of the Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan. He was called "a detestable person" by the Chief Minister of Kerala. The CM's comment rolled into a political controversy as his own party C.P.M had taken 60 lakhs for organising Nayanar Football Tournament.

He was in the lime light as a channel Kairali TV aired his interview allegedly picturising Mr.Achutanandan in poor light. The issue was in Kerala's media rolling into a political controversy.

Mr.Aboobaker is also an industrialist. He has recently given back the Deepika to the Catholic Church in Kerala.
