Joseph Wharton Lippincott

Joseph Wharton Lippincott (February 28, 1887 – October 22, 1976) headed the publishing house of J. B. Lippincott & Co. [cite news |first= |last= |authorlink= |coauthors= |title=Joseph W. The son of J. Bertram Lippincott and Joanna Wharton, daughter of Joseph Wharton, he also wrote seventeen nature books for children, including "The Wahoo Bobcat" (1955).

On his death, his son and namesake Joseph Wharton Lippincott, Jr. took over as head of the business.
