TheState Great Khural ("Ulsyn Ikh Khural", "State Great Assembly") has had 76 members, elected for a four year term in single-seat constituencies. Due to the voting system, Mongolia has experienced extreme shifts in the composition of the parliament after the 1996, 2000, and 2004 elections. It has therefore changed to a more proportional system.
