Hector Nicol

Hector Nicol (died 1985) was a famous Scottish comedian, singer and actor born in Paisley.

Acting career

Nicol starred in few shows during his career. His most notable role was that of a dying gangster in the BBC series Just a Boys' Game in 1979.

He also starred in Take the High Road, a famous Scottish Soap Opera

Singing career

He wrote "The Hearts Song" for Heart of Midlothian FC and "Glory, Glory to the Hibees" for Hibernian FC . He also wrote the "The Terrors of Tannadice" for Dundee United FC and "Dark Blue Of Dundee" for Dundee FC.However, he supported St Mirren FC.

Influence

His influence was massive on Scotland's current crop of comedians including Billy Connolly and Elaine C. Smith
