It was produced by and published by Pack-In Video Co. LTD. onDecember 16 ,1994 in Japan only. The game features soundbytes by KITT's seiyu Akio Nojima straight from the show's Japanese dub.Gameplay
Unlike the NES version, Special's game play is featured in third person perspective akin to even the most basic driving games like
Rad Racer andOut Run . The action is very similar to that ofChase H.Q. which also features a third person driving perspective. Players will have to navigate KITT through and around various cars, big rig trucks, and other obstacles in order to reach their destination and face each level's boss. However many of the cars on the open road are armed with rear guns and will try and fire at KITT. Jet fighters or propeller planes will also fly by and try fire machine guns or drop missiles on KITT.Area Checkpoints
Like many other driving games checkpoints or "areas" as they are called, are very important as one of the player's biggest enemies throughout the game is the clock. Players are given 60 seconds to get from area to area. When the player reaches an area his or her time is extended another 60 seconds.
Weapons
When the game starts KITT will only be armed with a pair machine guns and have turbo boost function. Unlike the show and other Knight Rider games, if the player hold the turbo boost button down they can remain airborne for long periods of time (Which could be considered a glitch in the game's programing). Over the course of the game players will be able to earn upgrades.

During a boss battle KITT will stay at a constant 200 mph., but sometimes he'll go over that mark and clock about 210 or so. The player will still have maneuverability and weapons control during these battles. The boss will swerve and fire some random weapon that penetrate KITT's molecular bonded shell. The player will have the option of ether firing their machine guns or ramming the boss several times till the vehicle explodes. Players will have to beat most of these bosses within a time limit of 30 seconds, one at least must be done in 55 seconds. In stage five the player will faceoff an armored tank and automatically lose, with KITT severely damaged in the process thus (In true Knight Rider fashion) prompting Bonnie to rebuild KITT. The final battle takes place at an unnamed facility, the boss is a generator that can be taken out in a few shots. However this fight features no driving or manual turbo boosts.
