Steve Goldman (coach)

Steve Goldman (Born February 8, 1945) is a former Canadian Football League coach. After graduating from Colorado State, Goldman began coaching in college, coaching at Florida State, Rice, and Louisville. From 1980-88 Goldman was an offenisve assistant for the Toronto Argonauts, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Edmonton Eskimos, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. His '87 Eskimos Eskimos team set a CFL record for points. He was head coach of the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1989-91. He had an overall record of 11-29, making the playoff in 1990 (A 34-25 East Division Semifinal loss to Toronto). He was fired after an 0-4 beginning to the 1991 season and was replaced by Ron Smeltzer.

During his 13 years in the CFL, Goldman coached many successful quarterbacks, including Condredge Holloway, Tom Clements, Dieter Brock, Matt Dunigan, Damon Allen, and Tom Burgess.
