Whitehead of the Firs, Lancashire

Created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom 1 November 1869 for Joseph Whitworth. He was one of the leading English engineers and inventors of the day.
* Sir Joseph Whitworth, 1st Baronet, (21 December 1803 - 22 January 1887) The Baronetcy became extinct on his death.
