Goondiwindi Regional Council is a Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia. The Local Government Area was created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located in the Darling Downs, contains the entire area of three previous Local Government Areas;
*Town of Goondiwindi;
*Shire of Inglewood; and
*Shire of Waggamba.
The report recommended that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect six councillors and a mayor. The Goondiwindi Regional Council covers an area of convert|19294|km2|sqmi|0|lk=on, contains an estimated resident population in 2006 of 10,720 and has an estimated operating budget of AUD26.1m.
The Regional Council covers the towns of Bungunya, Daymar, Goondiwindi, Inglewood, Talwood, Texas, Toobeah, Weengallon and Yelarbon.
