Juliusz Łukasiewicz

Juliusz Łukasiewicz (1892-1951) was a Polish diplomat.

Supporter of Józef Piłsudski, involved in the Prometheism project. Member of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1 January 1919. As a specialist in Polish-Soviet relations he joined the Eastern Department of the Ministry in 1921. After a year in France he returned to the Eastern Department and assumed its leadership from 1922 to 1926. From 1926 to 1929 he was the Polish envoy in Riga, Latvia; from 1931-1932 to Vienna, Austria, from 1933-1936 in Moscow, Soviet Union (ambassador from 1934), from 1936 to 7 November 1939 ambassador in Paris, France. Strong opponent of Władysław Sikorski. Remained on emigration.
