Jason Moore is an American director of theater and television. He was born October 22, 1970, in Fayetteville,
Arkansas and later studied atNorthwestern University .In 2003, Moore directed the musical "
Avenue Q ", which opened Off-Broadway at New York'sVineyard Theatre in March. Music and lyrics were byRobert Lopez andJeff Marx , and the book was byJeff Whitty . After a strong critical reception, "Avenue Q" subsequently moved to Broadway's Golden Theatre in July 2003, where it is still running. He was nominated for a 2004Tony Award for his direction of "Avenue Q". Jason Moore and Jeff Whitty are working together on a new musical based onArmistead Maupin 's "Tales of the City ."
