Juan M. Gonzalez (born February 23, 1982 in Valencia, Venezuela) is an infielder in Minor League Baseball who plays for the Jacksonville Suns in the Double-A Southern League.

Baseball career

Gonzalez was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Detroit Tigers on January 29, 1999, out of Liceo Romeo Garcia High School in Venezuela.

In the Tigers minor league system he played for the Gulf Coast Tigers, Oneonta Tigers, and West Michigan Whitecaps. He was traded by the Tigers to the Seattle Mariners on January 8, 2004 for shortstop Carlos Guillén.

With the Mariners organization he played for the Inland Empire 66ers, hitting .290 in 2004 with 26 steals, his best numbers to that point.

He was released by the Mariners halfway through the season and picked up by the Tigers again, who sent him to the Lakeland Tigers. In 2006 he played for the Bakersfield Blaze in the Texas Rangers system, the Albuquerque Isotopes in the Florida Marlins system, and the independent Long Island Ducks team.

He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for the 2007 season, and he is now playing for the Jacksonville Suns. He hit .287 with the Suns in 2007, including 9 home runs and 52 RBI, earning him a spot on the Southern League All-Star team.
