Narula Institute of Technology (NIT) is an engineering college in West Bengal, India, situated in Agarpara, Kolkata, located at 81, Nilgunj Road, Kolkata:700109.

The college is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT) and the AICTE. AICTE File No.- 750-80-017(NDEG)/ET/2001. Date and Period of last Approval: 14 July 2009 from 2009–10. The college is one of seven colleges under the JIS Group.

The departments of EE, ECE and IT of the college is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

Grievance redressal mechanism for faculty staff and students is a completely confidential system and is under the supervision of the Director/Principal. A complaint box is checked regularly for early redressal of grieviances. In some cases, proper disciplinary action through show cause, suspension and structured enquiry committees are formed by Director to resolve an issue.

Nearest railway Station is Agarpara (Sealdah, Main), 1.5 km and nearest Airport is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (DumDum Airport), 20 km.

Admission Quota

  • B. TECH : Candidate who have cleared 10 + 2 exams in the Science discipline and are qualified in WBJEE or AIEEE examinations are selected through counselling organised by Central Selection Committee, Govt. of West Bengal. The ratio of the intake is 80% from WBJEE, 10% from AIEEE and 10% via Management quota of the last academic year.
  • M. Tech.: Candidates having 1st class and qualified in Gate exam are admitted directly, as per the merit list or through an admission test conducted by the institute.

Library

A fully computerised library help the students. The library contents approximately 10,000 books, journals and research papers. Each student get at least one text book for each subject for six months(one semester) and four reference books for two weeks(may be reissued again if available). A large reading room is attached with the library.
