Montague "Monty" Guild Jr. (b.1942) is the founder and CEO of Guild Investment Management located in Los Angeles, California.[1] He was an analyst at a bank and hedge fund from 1968 to 1970. In 1971, Monty Guild Jr. founded Guild Investment Management in Southern California. He holds a B.A. in Economics from University of California and an MBA with honors from California State University.
Guild was an early devotee of Transcendental Meditation.[1] He served as president and chairman of the board of the Maharishi Heaven on Earth Development Corp., a company devoted to developing 50 communities of meditators, called "ideal villages", in the US and Canada.[2] In 1996, he placed 95th on a list of contributors to US political parties over the prior year, on account of the $171,000 he gave to the Natural Law Party.[3][4] He announced in 2003 that he was bankrolling the construction of a proposed "Peace Palace" in Los Angeles.[1]
