Davidson College . As a senior in 2004, he posted an 8-3 record and 3.30 ERA, earning All-Southern Conference second-team honors. He ranked fourth in the conference in ERA, strikeouts and lowest batting average against.He was selected in the 14th round of the June 2004 MLB Draft by the
Los Angeles Dodgers and assigned to the Rookie ClassOgden Raptors for the 2004 season. Pitched for theColumbus Catfish in 2005 and started 2006 with theVero Beach Dodgers . He posted a 1.80 ERA with Vero Beach, striking out 48 batters in 35 innings and was selected as aFlorida State League All-Star. He was promoted to the Double-AJacksonville Suns for the second half of the season and posted a 2.95 ERA in 20 games for the Suns.He played for the
Mesa Solar Sox of theArizona Fall League following the season and returned to Jacksonville for the 2007 season. He went 1-2 with a 4.37 era for the Suns and was promoted to theLas Vegas 51s for the end of the season, where he went 1-2 with a 5.02 era in seven appearances.References
