Kaiwo Maru II is a Japanese training
tall ship . She was built in 1989 to replace a 1930 ship of the same name.Her keel was laid by Sumitomo Heavy Industries on July 8th, 1988 and she was launched on March 7th 1989. It was fully completed on September 12, 1989. She is a four masted barque with the length of over 110 meters and a complement of 199 persons.
She is a sister ship of Nippon Maru II"'.
The Kaiwo Maru II is a regular participant in international tall ship gatherings such as
Operation Sail and is a multiple winner of theBoston Teapot Trophy .Kaiwo Maru
Kaiwo Maru was a Japanese training tall ship. She was launched on
1930-02-14 . Sails were removed between 1943 and 1955. She retired on 1989-09-16 and she is exhibited in Kaiōmaru Park inImizu, Toyama coord|36.78008|137.110139|format=dms|display=inline|type:landmark_region:JP_scale:10000.References
