Lower Plenty Football Club

The Lower Plenty Football Club is located in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The club's home ground is in Montmorency, on the upper oval at Para Road Reserve, adjacent to the Montmorency Football Club's home ground.

Known as the Bears, the club wore a brown and gold vertically striped guernsey (similar to that of AFL club Hawthorn) before adopting a gold and maroon guernsey from 2004.

Founded in 1961 as the Diamond Valley Churches Football Club, the club originally participated in the Metropolitan Churches League. When that league folded in 1970, the team became Diamond Valley United and joined the Eastern Suburban Churches Football Association. In 1983, the club transferred into the Panton Hill Football League before returning to the ESCFA in 1986. Continuing the club's nomadic period, Lower Plenty spent seasons 1993 & 1994 in the Southern Football League before settling into the second division of the Diamond Valley Football League in 1995.

A premiership in 1999, saw the club promoted to the first division of the DVFL, where the club survived a handful of competitive seasons before inevitably returning to the lower tier.

While not dominating the finals series of the past 4 - 5 years, they have certainly been dominating the off field functions such as "rave at the cave" and the "man o man" nights.
