Etudes in Twelve Exercises
- Etudes in Twelve Exercises
Etudes in Twelve Exercises, S.136, is a set of études written by Franz Liszt in 1826 when he was a teenager. These would developed into the revised Douze Grandes Etudes in 1837, and later the Transcendental Etudes in 1851; the version commonly heard today. Each etude in the set is focused on certain technical difficulties. For intermediate pianists they are excellent etudes, and if one is planning on playing the later 12 Transcendental Etudes (3rd version) then these are good places to start gaining the technical abilities.Facts|date=December 2007
