The Bush Hyrax or Yellow-spotted Rock Hyrax ("Heterohyrax brucei") is a species of mammal in the Procaviidae family. It is found in Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Israel, Syria, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are dry savanna and rocky areas.It is currently the only species in the genus "Heterohyrax". However, there are 25 distinct subspecies. References
