Barcaldine Regional Council is a Local Government Area in Queensland, Australia. The Local Government Area was created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located in Central West Queensland, contains the entire area of three previous Local Government Areas;
*Shire of Aramac;
*Shire of Barcaldine; and
*Shire of Jericho.
The report recommended that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect six councillors and a mayor. The Barcaldine Regional Council will cover an area of convert|53677|km2|sqmi|0|lk=on, contain an estimated resident population in 2006 of 3,503 and have an estimated operating budget of AUD21.6m.
The Regional Council will cover the towns of Alpha, Aramac, Barcaldine, Jericho and Muttaburra.
