- Isaac Regional Council
Isaac Regional Council is a Local Government Area in
Queensland ,Australia . The Local Government Area was created in March 2008 as a result of the report of the Local Government Reform Commission released in July 2007. The new Council, located inCentral Queensland , contains the entire area of three previous Local Government Areas;
*Shire of Belyando ;
*Shire of Broadsound ; and
*Shire of Nebo .The report recommended that the new local government area should not be divided into wards and elect eight councillors and a
mayor . The Isaac Regional Council covers an area of convert|58862|km2|sqmi|0|lk=on, contain an estimated resident population in 2006 of 20,443 and have an operating budget ofAUD 46.0m.The Regional Council covers the towns of Carmila, Clermont, Coppabella, Dysart, Glenden, Middlemount, Moranbah and St Lawrence and the villages/communities of Clairview, Greenhill, and Ilbilbie.
