The Stonehenge School is a small, mixed comprehensive school located in Amesbury, Wiltshire for children aged 11-16. It currently has around 780 pupils on its roll.

The current headteacher is Nigel Roper who took over from Andy Packer in 2004.

History

The site where the school currently stands was bought in 1938 for a Church of England secondary school that was never built. However, in 1958 a secondary school opened on the site and in 1960-1 the school was enlarged. In 1974 the school was renamed The Stonehenge School, taking pupils aged 11-16. Due to the expansion of the Amesbury area in the 1990s an Upper School building and Sports Hall were built alongside the existing building.
